Topic: Connecting a Micrologix 1100 to VIMPosted: 14 Aug 2008 at 12:16pm |

Does anyone have experience connecting a Micrologix 1100 to a VIM I/O card using the micrologix's ethernet port? I am mostly having trouble on the Micrologix end with setting up the messages.
Any kind links to examples would be great.

MicroLogix does not directly support Ethernet/IP. You would have to use the Rockwell 1761-NET-ENI module to communicate with the VIM on one side, and the MicroLogix serial port on the other side. The serial side would be using DF1 protocol. The Rockwell publication 1761-BR006C-EN-P describes this connectivity. For additional questions, feel free to contact Mynah Technical support.

I believe you are referring to MicroLogix 1200s and 1500s for serial only. I am using MicroLogix 1100s which has an ethernet port on channel. This port is used for Ethernet/IP communications. If you look at Publication 1763-RM001A_EN-P it shows an example of configuring an Ethernet/IP message. I am just having problems getting this message to work with the VIM since I can find no configuration example in the Mynah VIM documents to help guide me with the setup of this message.
